In December 2008 Chez Jules required a £5 deposit for all bookings. I duly paid my deposit up front. The food was fine, but when it came to the bill the deposit appeared to have been "forgotten". After wine and convivial conversation I didn't realise until I got home. The restaurant's response was not encouraging. They said they had returned my deposit - they hadn't. I provided a list of what we ate and the prices which added up to exactly what we paid on the night. They then said that "I could not prove" that they had not refunded the money. This is exactly the sort of response one would expect from a fraudster. Finally they blocked my emails and refused to respond. I have put in a complaint to Birmingham City Council's trading standards department. I would be interested if anyone else had similar problems.

(Report Problem)I've been to Chez Jules many many times and it has never failed me! Gorgeous food, friendly atmosphere and great price. Doesn't get much better than this!
