This celebrated, historical ryokan dates from 1861 and reflects the privileged social status of the samurai who frequented Hiiragi-ya in pre-modern Edo-period Japan. It is slightly more extravagant and with a few more modern touches than its famous compeer Tawara-ya. The rooms are luxurious and hep. The service here is brilliant with world class professionalism. The rooms are well decorated with traditional Japanese culture and art. There is also a garden which is a beautiful landscaped one and a nice place to relax.
