Eyre Square, Galway, Ireland…
More and Maps
The Great Southern overlooks the John F. Kennedy Memorial Park, or Eyre Square as it is known by the locals. It is a 19th century building with a relaxing yet elegant interior. The rooms are plush and decorated in an opulent fashion, and the hotel itself possesses an old world charm. In the lobby there are comfortable areas to sit, have a drink or enjoy a light snack. Choose from several comfortable suites. The swimming pool on the hotel's top floor provides a great view of Galway's city center.

Really lovely atmosphere in lobby with live piano music - great for afternoon tea. Rooms all done up - really tasteful Right in Eyre square so great for nearness to shopping and pubs etc!
28 Jul 2005 | A Yahoo! UserThe park acroos from the hotel was being redon and therefore the room with a view, which I requested could not be fufilled. Futhermore, every time I returned to the hotel from a day of sightseeing the staff questioned if I should "be" in the hotel. The last straw was when the fire alarm went off at 3am and we were shipped out to other hotels the next day where we had to wait 2 more hours for a new room. Did I mention this was my honeymoon. Thanks for nothing Great Southern.
